Although all necessary technologies are in place, and hundreds of start-ups have been exerting themselves to deliver multimedia guide services for nearly a decade, no one has overcome the market “acceptance barrier.” We believe that one of the major obstacles is the limited and poor content available. The content is always bound to apps created by specific vendors and incompatible with other apps in the marketplace.
As a result, all Content Providers, Mobile Hardware Vendors and other stakeholders are deterred by this compatibility issue.

The compatibility issue is easy to resolve via the introduction of free and open standards for content and apps. This will eliminate the risk of dead-end investments and unleash the full potential of the stakeholders. Content Providers of any scale, millions of Tourist Attraction Owners and Tourist Authorities will create their multimedia stories conforming to the standards, and thus be compatible with any app provided by Mobile Apps Developers or any other suppliers.
As in any other industry, the standards are to be developed by a Technical Committee, which should consist of stakeholders. We are inviting all of them to join us in standardizing the market.
If you are a Content Provider, you want your content to be available on any device. If you are a Mobile Hardware Vendor, you want all multimedia stories around the world to be compatible with your device, increasing the market for your products. If you are a Tourist Authority or an Owner of the Tourist Attraction, you want travelers to hear your stories as they walk nearby.
